Fall Sports
CHEERING This varsity team cheers at varsity football games and is open to both male and female students.
CROSS-COUNTRY Varsity teams compete in Class B events in the Penobscot Valley as well as regional and state championships.
FIELD HOCKEY The teams compete in Class B and offer female students the opportunity to play at varsity and junior varsity levels. The teams use the University of Maine field.
FOOTBALL Varsity and junior varsity teams compete in Class D and are open to both male and female athletes. Home field is Husson University.
GOLF The teams are open to both male and female athletes and compete in Class B. The teams practice at the Pine Hill Golf Course in Brewer and often send members to the state-level competition.
SOCCER, BOYS Soccer teams compete in Class B. The home field is located at the Dorothea Dix.
SOCCER, GIRLS The girls’ soccer teams compete in Class B. The home field is the Dorothea Dix Field.
Winter Sports
BASKETBALL, BOYS John Bapst basketball teams compete in Class B. Home games are played at the Cross Insurance Center.
BASKETBALL, GIRLS The Lady Crusaders compete in Class B. Home games are played at the Cross Insurance Center.
COMPETITION CHEERING The school supports both varsity and junior varsity cheering teams. The varsity team competes in Class B PVC, Big East, regional, and state competitions.
ICE HOCKEY, BOYS The team competes in Class B. The team’s home rink is Sawyer Arena.
ICE HOCKEY, GIRLS John Bapst will play with the new team, the Penobscot Pioneers. The home rink is Penobscot Ice Arena.
INDOOR TRACK Indoor track is open to both male and female athletes. The team competes in Class B, all regular season meets are on the University of Maine track.
ALPINE SKIING The Alpine Ski Team competes in Class B and is open to male and female athletes. It includes two events: Slalom and Giant Slalom. The team trains at Hermon Mountain and competes in ski races throughout the state.
SWIMMING & DIVING Separate varsity swim teams are available for male and female athletes. The teams compete in Class B and practice at the Bangor Y. Diving is also offered to male and female student-athletes and they practice at the University of Maine Pool.
WRESTLING We offer Wrestling as a cooperative individual sport with Ellsworth High School. Any student-athlete that wrestles will wrestle for John Bapst, but will practice each day in Ellsworth at the high school, with their team and coaches. They will also travel to and from Ellsworth for all home and away matches. They are also responsible for their own transportation to practices daily.
Spring Sports
BASEBALL Baseball is offered to male students at the varsity and junior varsity levels. The team uses the field at Husson College.
LACROSSE The “Lax” team is open to male and female athletes and competes in Class B. Varsity and JV Lacrosse teams practice and play together. Games are held at Husson University while practice is held at Husson or at the Dorothea Dix complex.
SOFTBALL Softball is offered to female students at the varsity and junior varsity levels. The teams compete in Class B and use the field at Husson University.
TENNIS Tennis is a varsity sport at John Bapst, with teams available for male and female students. The teams compete in Class B and use the Armstrong Tennis Center.
TRACK & FIELD Track provides male and female athletes with 19 different events. The spring track team trains at Cameron Field.
