From the Directors
Welcome to John Bapst’s boarding and international programs! Serving your needs as a boarding student are two experienced professionals, Director of Residential Life Jordan Reeves and International Program Director Yue (Louisa) Deng. Our goal is to provide a home away from home in a stimulating environment.
John Bapst is an academically oriented school, and teachers will keep you busy as you prepare for a top college or university. At the same time, sports, music, arts, theater, clubs, community service, and an ever-growing menu of weekend activities give students a chance to learn what life in an American school is all about.
Our nine houseparents live on campus, providing adult support and attention to approximately 50 boarding students. Residence halls range in size from 16 students to three or four students. Most rooms are doubles, with a few singles and triples. The on-campus student:faculty ratio is less than 6:1, guaranteeing that we know every student personally.
Our Residence Halls
The John Bapst campus includes six residence halls and single-family homes, offering home-like environments for our international students and house parents. They are all an easy walk from the school, the athletic center, parks, and downtown Bangor. Just as academic scheduling is done on an individual student basis every year, room assignments take into account student requests and personalities.
John Bapst’s busy homestay program is another option for our students. Those choosing a homestay have the opportunity to live with local families, forming lasting friendships and enjoying a unique experience while at John Bapst.
Choose John Bapst for an experience that emphasizes top-quality academics, involvement in student life, and a friendly, safe atmosphere!
