Have you heard the news?
Students from John Bapst’s Band and Chorus will join Portland’s Shoestring Theatre in leading the opening parade of the 2019 American Folk Festival on the Bangor Waterfront through the streets of the Bangor Waterfront, Friday, Aug. 23. This is the first time in its 18-year history that the festival has incorporated Maine high school music students into its lineup.
American Folk Festival executive director Heather McCarthy said, “Having John Bapst Memorial High School, an institution with more than 90 years of educational achievement under its belt, contribute to this parade … will create a memorable beginning to this festival.”
And remember, the John Bapst Summer Alumni Reunion is also Friday, Aug. 23, at the Seadog Brewing Company on the Bangor Waterfront. Watch the parade while at the reunion. Mark your calendars and join us!
The fun begins Friday, Aug. 23, 4-5 p.m., with tours of the school followed by the annual alumni gathering from 6-9 p.m.
See you there!
