Head of School John "Jay" Brennan delivered our Spring Convocation on Friday, January 30, 2026. His speech was given in historic Sekera Auditorium to a packed house of students, faculty, and staff. In this powerful and deeply moving address, Mr. Brennan shared the story of his son David and his years-long battle with cancer, asking students to be empathetic, to look after each other, and to express their feelings to others. He used the Korean word 피난처, or refuge, to describe what the John Bapst community has meant to him as he and his family heal after the passing of their son.
