It was a BIG weekend for John Bapst Robotics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute!

Our teams made their mark at one of the region’s largest and most competitive tournaments and John Bapst was the only Maine school to earn recognition at the event.

Team 2142S was our top competitive team and had an incredible showing, turning heads throughout the day. They finished 4th overall in qualifications (and were essentially in a tight battle for 2nd right to the end). While their elimination run ended early after a tough first-round matchup with the eventual tournament champions, 2142S came closer than any other team. losing by just 5 points, the smallest margin anyone managed against the champs, a performance essentially puts them at a “second best overall” level by comparison. An outstanding showing!

Team 2142X impressed in a different way, earning the Judges Award for their creativity, engineering, and determination. Although their highly innovative robot wasn’t fully competition-ready yet, it stood out for its bold, original design that broke from the standard meta. The judges loved their approach, noting its huge future potential - and with more refinement, this robot could become a truly formidable competitor.

We’re exceptionally proud of all our Crusader robotics teams for representing John Bapst with excellence, creativity, and grit!
