Good Morning,
And just like that…HERE WE GO! School, for new students on Monday, and everyone on Tuesday, begins this week! Despite not wanting the summer to end I’m sure, embrace the fresh start of the new school year. Use that excitement to get on track and stay ahead of your academic priorities. Keep working hard in practices and competitions. Thank your family and all who support you! GOOD LUCK!
The Weekly Athletic Schedule (8-28 to 9-4): is attached. Please note, there is a second page that contains the schedule for Labor Day. Several of our programs have activities scheduled for Friday and Saturday, 9/1 and 9/2, as well as Monday, 9/4. These are important team events. Sacrifice is part of success. Please make every effort to be at your team activities. If you can’t make it for some reason, please, communicate with your coaches in advance. Thank you!
Facility and Equipment Use: Please continue to be respectful of all the facilities we are fortunate to be able to use for athletics, but also for school. Monday, we will be in Broadway Park for New Student Orientation. Wednesday, we will be at Union St. for soccer and field hockey games, and we will be at the University of Maine on Saturday for soccer. We will continue to be scattered around the city and state for games, matches, meets, and practices. Please leave each facility, and the equipment provided, in better shape than you found it, whenever possible. Be polite and thank the folks that work there. THIS INCLUDES OUR BUILDINGS AT JOHN BAPST! Take pride in what we have on campus. Get trash and bottles to a receptacle. Push your chairs in, clean up around your desks, and flush toilets. These seem like basic, little things. They go a long way toward pride in place and respect for those that work hard to manage our facilities. GET IT DONE!
Help Others Get Connected: Is there someone in your family that needs to get these schedule memos? This will be the regular pattern all year, and each week there will be very important information shared in these communications. Please let anyone that needs to be added to the list to contact Coach O at doconnell@johnbapst.org.
Continue to Prepare: Some sports have begun their regular seasons. The remainder of us will start ours this week! It’s exciting for sure, but don’t get ahead of yourself. Put the time in at practice and training to be prepared to be successful. Take care of your bodies. Hydrate. Eat well. GET PLENTY OF SLEEP. Take care of business at school. Work hard for your teammates. Do your homework and get a good meal. Put the phone down at night. Turn off the laptop, and rest! It can only help!
Let’s have a great first week! Good luck!
GO CRUSADERS!
