As we turn the calendar to May, hopefully improved weather comes with it! Keep up the good work in school and on the fields and courts. It is going to be a busy month.
Starting Monday you will be able to see all of our game schedules on Google Calendar on our website at www.johnbapst.org. Please know there will be changes. Just like Friday, weather will play a role. Husson is still determining their fate in baseball and softball so we are awaiting final confirmation of all of our events on their campus. Hang with us, we will get you any information “to be determined (TBD)” as soon as we have it. We will use the website, social media, school announcements, team apps, and email to get word to athletes and families when there is a change.
Please continue to notify Coach O if you need a spot on a particular van run to practice or an event. If we do not hear from someone on each run we will assume it is not needed. The van will leave from in front of school each day at each time it is scheduled with a reservation. If you have questions please contact Coach O’Connell (email@example.com).
Bus transportation issues are slowly improving. Capacities are now at 50 on local buses (as long as everyone wears a face covering). Hopefully that will allow us to secure more runs to our athletc events. However, until that time comes, we appreciate families being willing to help get us to and from our practices and competitions as needed.
Last week there were some changes to the mask mandate in our state. That prompted some change in the CDC and MPA guidance for spring sports. At the front of the week we will announce how the athletics program at John Bapst is going to adjust their own polices with respect to the new changes. Until then all athletes should continue to follow the adopted John Bapst policy of wearing masks during competition. As soon as we make any adjustments to our policies we will let everyone know. Spectators, please follow the prescribed rules at each venue at which we play. Thank you!
Please let me know if you have any questions. Keep working hard as we head into the busiest part of the spring season! GO CRUSADERS!
