May 1, 2022
Good Morning all,
With apologies for the delay, the Weekly Schedule (5-2 to 5-7) is attached.
The calendar says May. The season is already flying by, and we are off to a great start! Congratulations to the softball, baseball, and tennis teams, all of whom swept doubleheaders this weekend. Kudos to the lacrosse team as they picked up another win on Friday, and good luck to the track team as they compete on Monday (postponed from Friday)!
Please be reminded, as we settle back into school for the homestretch, to work hard in the classroom. We have a little over a month left of school. We need to finish strong. If you are struggling in a class, see your teachers. Make a plan with them to meet before or after school to get back on track. I realize our spring schedules take us all over town, and sometimes right after school. Let me be clear, your coaches are aware of our commitment to academics. If you have to get to a practice late for an academic commitment, as long as you communicate, you will be excused. Please see Coach O with any questions. Do your homework, hand in quality work, pay attention and participate in class, and work hard on your tests. Work hard down the stretch!
We realize AP testing begins Monday for many of you. While we will not be able to move the start times of every single practice and game, we will do our best to plan around the tests. Do your best on the exams. Please help us by letting your coaches know now which tests you are taking (especially in the afternoon sessions). All AP tests are important, of course, but it is the afternoon sessions which will create schedule conflicts. This is an excused absence, but please let your coaches know, as soon as possible, where you will be. Thank you and good luck.
Have you and your teammates signed up for the Bapst Bunny Hop Virtual 5k yet? For $40 it is a great way for students to show support for their school as well! I realize, $40 is a decent chunk for students, but three less trips to “Chick-fil-a, BW’s, and “Dunkin” and you are there! I want to encourage you to get involved and support this new fundraiser! Go to https://www.johnbapst.org/
As you know, we are seeing a slight uptick in COVID-19 cases. Please, for the good of the those around you, if you don’t feel well, stay home! If you have a home test, take it. If you need to be tested by the school, let us know. We want to do everything we can to keep everyone as healthy as possible. Thank you.
Lastly, and maybe most importantly, please continue to be good school citizens and representatives of our school. Do the right thing in the hallways, in class, and in the community. Be polite. Take pride in being a John Bapst student. Show sportsmanship in competition. Be respectful of our property and facilities. Make good decisions, and work hard in all your endeavors this spring! THANK YOU!
Have a great week! GO CRUSADERS!
