Good Morning,
As we have mentioned all year, and especially the last two weeks, it is all happening fast and going by quickly! The Weekly Athletic Schedule (5-15 to 5-20), attached, officially marks the middle of the month and, at the very minimum, marks the second half of the regular season for our spring sports!
The theme persists…”Another busy week…”: This week we have 22 competitions scheduled amongst our 12 teams competing this spring! It is imperative that you pay attention to where you are supposed to be and when you are supposed to be there. Furthermore, if you have a potential conflict with one of your activities, please don’t wait until the last minute to communicate with your coaches. They, too, are planning practices, and lineups for games, and they need and deserve advance notice if you are not going to be in attendance. We realize there is a lot going on for everyone at this point in the school year and spring season. Please be respectful and communicate when needed. Thank you!
Teachers are busy too…: Your teachers are working hard, each day in the classroom, and each day before and after school, to make sure you all get what you need to be successful in the academic realm. Pay attention in class. Complete your work. Make sure you hand it in on time and that it is of good quality when you do so. If you have questions or need their help, communicate with them to find a mutually beneficial time to meet. Take care of all of your academic commitments in order to earn the privilege of competing in athletics. Give your teachers the respect they deserve. Communicate with them if you have a conflict. Get it done!
“You miss 100% of the shots you don’t take”: Many of you don’t know who Wayne Gretzky is, which is remarkable to me, but I digress. His words, however, live on in truth. As has been mentioned, we want you to compete at the highest level possible. Your family, your teammates, your teachers, staff, and administrators, and your entire John Bapst community is rooting for you to be successful. SO GO FOR IT! Don’t be worried about what happens if you fail. Don’t worry about what happens if you don’t win. Take every opportunity to compete as an opportunity to improve and to have fun! Don’t back down for a second. Like I said…GO FOR IT!
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE….HAVE FUN, STICK TOGETHER, BE SAFE !!!!!:
For all of you attending our prom, or another at a different school, we want you to have fun and we hope you all have a wonderful time at your events. That said, we are begging you, please be safe!!! Make good decisions. Stick together and look out for each other. Above all else, be safe. Drive carefully. Don’t distract each other. Make sure everyone gets home safely. We truly want you to make memories that last a lifetime, but we want them to be positive. Have fun! But for all your loved ones, for all of us, and for yourselves, please, be safe.
HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY: To all the mothers out there, thank you for all you are, and all you do. From this, the biggest “mama’s boy” around, and from the entire John Bapst community, to all of you, everywhere…HAPPY MOTHER’S DAY!!!!
Have a great weekend, and let’s have another great week!
GO CRUSADERS!
