April 22, 2022
Good Evening,
This schedule marks the last week of April! In this document is the last of the first “countable” competitions in Baseball, Tennis, and Softball. Congratulations to the JV baseball and softball teams, as well as the varsity lacrosse team on their victories over break. Stay tuned for how the track meet went today on MDI. We are off to a fast start with a busy week and spring season ahead! It is exciting!
As we work back into the classroom please communicate with your teachers. We must take responsibility for our academic progress. Use this weekend to catch up. Turn in quality work. If you are struggling, please reach out to your teachers and make a plan to improve. There is still a large portion of the fourth quarter remaining, but it will fly by as the weather improves and many spring events appear on the horizon. Get it done in the classroom and in athletics; be great student-athletes.
Speaking of the classroom, this is a reminder, it is not too late to consider Ms. Grover’s Yoga courses for next year. As part of the PE program, or as an elective credit, there are now three yoga offerings at our school. Her Yoga Medley class is now offered along with Yoga for Relaxation, and Yoga for Athletes. Yoga is a great way to relax, to stretch, to become stronger, and to become more athletic. All of these attributes can help you in your athletic efforts. Please see Ms. Grover with any questions about how her classes may fit into your schedule.
There may be some inclement weather in the middle of the week. Please pay attention to the announcements at school, to the school’s social media outlets, and to your email. Your coaches will reach out to you as well when there are changes. Keep an eye on team apps and any other means your coaches may use to get the word out.
CALLING ALL CRUSADERS! YOUR NEIGHBORING COMMUNITY NEEDS YOU! This Wednesday, following our early dismissal, we have a great opportunity to be leaders in community service as we help clean up the neighborhood surrounding school and into downtown. The “big sweep” of this clean-up, coinciding with the recent Earth Day celebration, will take place 4/27. The City of Bangor will supply vests, gloves, and bags to clean-up the trash in the area. When we finish our work, the city will come and pick up the trash. There will be more details to follow. With an early dismissal, and no activities until 2:30pm that day, each sports program should be able to band together for a couple hours and help out! I know we can make this happen in a major way. Being together and helping the community is what we are all about! Stay tuned for details. LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN!
Work hard. Be accountable. Communicate. Compete. Lead. Serve your community. Have fun!
Let’s get the spring season off to a great start as we close the month of April! Good Luck.
GO CRUSADERS!
