April 15, 2022
Good Morning,
The Weekly Athletic Schedule (4-18 to 4-23) for April Break is attached.
This always proves to be a wild week for us. Many of you will travel, either on a school-based trip, with your family, or with your teams. There are many of you with work conflicts during the week. All of you have academic work to do over the break, and some of you should use the time away from school to catch up.
We believe in “family first, academics second, and athletics third.” We want you to have great experiences here at John Bapst. We want you to travel. We understand you may need to travel with your family, and we hope you have a tremendous time. But, we also want you to commit to your teammates and your coaches. We want you to do all you can to make it to as many team activities as possible. If you have a conflict, please let your coaches know. They need to be able to plan for practice and competitions according to your attendance. Because school is not in session, communicating directly with your coach will be vital this week. Please make sure your coaches and teammates know, in advance, if you are not going to be able to attend a scheduled session. Changes of any kind will be reflected on the John Bapst Facebook page, via email, and directly from your coaches. Please be sure to check your email and any team apps during the break week.
We are now into the “regular season.” JV Baseball and Softball, Lacrosse, and Outdoor track will have played regular season games, or had a meet, by the end of the break week. Please put in maximum effort. Don’t shy away from competition, rather, embrace it. Be excited to represent your school, your teams, and your community against other schools. Support each other. Cheer for each other when things are going well. Pick each other up and stay positive when we face adversity. HAVE FUN!
Late in the fall, through the winter, and now into the spring, we have started a culture of increased student body support at our competitions. Many students are starting to attend sporting events and cheer for their fellow Crusaders. Please, do all you can to get out and support your classmates. Remember to show good sportsmanship, to cheer for our teams, and not to be critical of our opponents. We would love to see you over break and beyond! If you have time, come to a game, a match, or a meet please do so! We thank you in advance for your support!
As mentioned before, if you have school work to catch up on, use the break to do so. Catch up on your rest, but around practice and enjoying the break, get up out of bed, and if needed, catch up on your school work. Effort now will pay off at the end of the school year. If possible, spend some time doing something over break for your parents, your family, a charity, or those that support you. Pay it forward.
We are excited for the spring seasons to get underway, and we hope you have a wonderful spring break!
GO CRUSADERS!
