We hope this finds you all well! Hopefully you are able to enjoy this beautiful weather at some point!
The Weekly Athletic Schedule (4-12 to 4-17) for the week is attached below.
For those teams with multiple rosters, please pay attention to the details of the schedule. The dates and times are specific to different teams. Let us know if you have questions.
The game and meet schedules are still “being approved” by our rented venues and the umpires, referees, and officials. Our varsity game schedules will be posted on our website and Google Calendar by Friday, 4/17, at the latest. Our JV schedules will be a work in progress for a little while while schools in the area figure out rosters and other variables that affect the schedule. We will get those published as soon as we can.
It is important to know, because we rent facilities that are not our own, sometimes the schedules change outside of our control. As we can all attest, Mother Nature does not always cooperate in our area either, so there will most likely be adjustments for weather. We will update schedules, post on our website and social media pages, and make sure our coaches email players as soon as there are any changes.
Transportation continues to be an issue. On the schedule there are several groups that will be able to take advantage of a school van ride, but only by reservation. Please, if you need a ride in the school van to an event, email Coach O’Connell (email@example.com). If we do not get a reservation for a particular session, we will assume the trip is not necessary and we will not make the scheduled run. Also, the van will pick up outside of the school, on Broadway, for each trip. Please be prompt. There is a tight schedule in the afternoon and the drivers have been instructed to depart on time. Thank you for paying special attention to this process if it affects your travel. We appreciate what all of you are doing to assist with transportation on a daily basis. If there are questions, or there is a specific need to make a change, and we can help, we will. Thank you for your willingness to work with us here, supporting your student-athletes in this manner, and for your flexibility.
If you are waiting after school for transportation to a practice or game, you must be in one of two places. Please either find a classroom with teacher permission, or head to the auditorium. Please remember to stay distant and wear your face coverings. The main office, and the doors are manned until 3:30pm. If for some reason you need to leave the building and come back, please use the buzzers on the Admin and foyer entrances. PLEASE, DO NOT, UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES PULL A LOCKED DOOR OPEN! Be respectful of our school building. If you find yourself outside the building after 3:30pm please text a teammate to be let in. There is more and more school business happening in the building after school, which is a positive sign (Please note: The auditorium will be closed this Tuesday, 4/13, after school. If you are staying after for practice, please find a classroom, or even a safe place outside to wait for your transportation. Thank you for respecting this request.).
Athletes, please remember to follow all COVID-19 protocols. Wear your face covering at all times. Bring substantial water. Remain physically distant when possible. Sanitize your hands and your equipment as much as possible. Each student is required to provide a daily screening form for each session. Please note, if you are not feeling well, or have any symptoms, you need to stay home. Turning in the screening form declares you are feeling good and you are healthy. For the good of our spring seasons, and for the health and safety of our teammates and coaches, don’t chance it! Thank you!
We are a week from Spring Break, and games and competitions will be fast approaching. Information about spectator policies, venue location, along with game and competition schedules will be released soon. Let’s hope for continued good weather!
This week’s Project Graduation fundraiser is:
Thursday, April 15 – Uno’s, Bangor (20% of proceeds to Project Grad). The Coupon is attached here: UNO’s flyer.pdf
Finally, support the FOOD DRIVE at school this week!!! Bring in your non-perishable foods and help support the community! According too the Student Senate, we are around a third of the way to our goal. Our community has always been great at “giving back” and the athletic programs have always been a large part of those efforts! LET’S MAKE IT HAPPEN, and get to 2,000 donations! Apparently there are some really cool incentives coming out this week…stay tuned!
That’s a lot to unpack in one memo, I realize, but the sprint that is Spring Sports and Events has begun! Please let us know if you have questions, work hard, be good teammates, compete, stay focused in the classroom, and as always…
