The Weekly Athletic Schedule (10-23 to 10-28) is attached.
IT IS THE LAST WEEK OF THE FIRST QUARTER! Please make your academic success your priority this week. Staying on top of your academic progress will allow you the time you need to prepare for your own athletic success or to go and support your classmates during a very exciting week in many sports! Communicate with your teachers about when you can see them for any needs you may have. Take advantage of their desire to help you and thank them for their help. Take care of business in the classroom first, and then go be loud and proud to support your school community!
Each one of our seven programs, Cheer, Cross Country, Field Hockey, Football, Golf, Boys Soccer, and Girls Soccer have qualified for postseason competition. This week, the girls’ soccer team will continue their playoff run with a game at Medomak Valley on Tuesday (3:15 p.m.). The boys soccer team will start their postseason with a game on Wednesday night at Cameron Stadium (7:30 p.m.). The Field Hockey team will head to Belfast for a quarterfinal match on Wednesday (3 p.m.), and fresh off two Regional Runners-up finishes in the regionals, the boys and girls Cross Country teams will head to the State Championship meet on Saturday (11 a.m.) in Belfast. Finally, football and cheer will have a “bye” this week, and get back at it in the semifinals next week.
Postseason competition is an exciting time of the season for all of us. The stakes are higher, the drama is palpable, and the competition level is raised. In a lot of ways, it is why we work so hard all season. Take the time to really take in your experiences, thank those that have supported you all season, and then give it your all. Make sure you don’t have any regrets because you didn’t do all you could to be successful! GO FOR IT!
Lastly, make sure we do the right thing when we go support our classmates. Cheer loudly, and proudly, for your fellow Crusaders! Please follow all the rules at each venue and at each competition. Be respectful of the officials, our opponents, and our team members!
We wish you all nothing but the best of luck and we hope you have a great week!
GO CRUSADERS!
