Bapst Boarding has just returned from an amazing week in New York City!
Twenty-eight boarding students from eight countries travelled by private charter bus from Bangor to NYC with Director of Residential Life Mr Reeves, science faculty Dr Real, and chaperones Ms Reeves and Ms Holly. The group started with a trip to Times Square after arrival and check-in at the hostel; the bright lights of the big city were just like everyone had imagined and seen in the movies!
The next morning we went to Rockefeller Center for the view from the 70th floor, looking south to the Empire State Building and north over Central Park; the weather was clear and we could see all the way to the horizon!
On Wednesday we visited the Statue of Liberty, climbing the long stairs up the pedestal for views of New York Harbor.
Thursday featured a private guided tour of the Metropolitan Museum before we rode back home to Bapst on Friday.
Students also had free time half of each day to explore New York in small groups, the most popular spots were the restaurants of Koreatown and Chinatown, as well as walking the Brooklyn Bridge and just exploring the city on foot.
Of course, our Bapst Boarding students were always well-behaved and trustworthy, which is essential for these adventures. Where will we go next?
