At John Bapst, we like to show our international students the many facets of life in Maine, including wintery adventures outside the classrooms.
This included the 2023 February Break trip to Sugarloaf. A chaperoned trip led by Mrs and Mr. Jordan Reeves, Director of Residential Life and a Social Science faculty member, the 3-day trip included staying at the cozy Hostel of Maine, and many indoor and outdoor activities.
Sugarloaf is the largest of several ski and outdoor recreational areas in Maine. At its center is Sugarloaf Mountain, located in Carrabassett Valley, which offers a variety of outdoor fun activitis. John Bapst students enjoyed skiing and snowboarding (with lessons and practice runs for those desiring them), hiking, and exploring the resort.
Indoors, students kept busy with board games in the private lodge, community cooking and dining, and, for those who truly needed to warm up, time in the heated pool and hot tubs. The large fireplace was also a cozy attraction.
Thank you to all who made this year’s trip memorable, especially our students, who kept the fun level high!
