STEP-UP DAY is Thursday, February 6, 2014, 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.
John Bapst invites 8th graders from the greater Bangor area and around the state, as well as any other students considering John Bapst from other high school grade levels, to visit the school for Step-Up Day. John Bapst is a publicly supported, independent, college-preparatory day and boarding school offering 16 Advanced Placement courses and strong programs in the arts and athletics which serves over 470 students from 45 towns and ten foreign countries.
The program begins at 8:30 and concludes at 1:00 pm. Students will be greeted by student ambassadors who will serve as tour guides day. Eighth graders will have an opportunity to tour the school, talk to current students, visit classrooms and meet faculty and staff members, and have a chance to observe a typical John Bapst day unfold.
Students will have lunch–pizza provided by the school–with current John Bapst students. Anyone with dietary restrictions is welcome to bring a lunch.
Step-Up Day will end with a pep rally. The John Bapst Band and cheerleaders will perform to wrap up the day. Students will have access to all the information they’ll need to apply to John Bapst for the 2012-2013 school year.
Students will have tours of the school to meet and interact with the different curricular areas. They will not only have a chance to talk to current students but also engage in activities with John Bapst faculty.
