John Bapst was well represented at the State National History Day competition at UMaine on Saturday, April 27, 2019.
Students Ian Dudley, John Hoang, Brittany Ho, Min Kim, Emma Cowing, Linh Le, Devon Hunter, Kaito Toya, Olivia Mamula, and Hannah Jones, all presented their work.
Place winners include Brittany Ho, who was awarded 3rd place for her website ‘Small Pox 1980 and its controversy.’
Ian Dudley was awarded 2nd place for his website ‘Recognized at Last: The Code Talkers of World War II.’
Linh Le was also awarded 2nd place for her research paper titled ‘The Left Behind: The Forgotten Struggles After the Vietnam War.’
And Min Kim was awarded 1st place for her documentary titled ‘How Petroleum influenced American Lifestyle.’
Ian, Linh, and Min will have the opportunity to represent John Bapst and the state of Maine at the national competition held in Maryland in June.
