Maine Educational Assessment (Smarter Balanced)
Friday, April 3 – Thursday, April 9
The Smarter Balanced test will be given to all juniors for whom the state pays tuition. This is the state assessment that replaces the mandatory SAT and is aligned with the Common Core State Standards. Testing will take about 2 hours on each day. The students will take the practice exam, Math exam, English exam, and the Math performance task. Private-pay students do not take this test but are expected to attend school.
SAT Reasoning Test
Wednesday, April 15, 2015
The SAT Reasoning Test will be administered to juniors at John Bapst on the morning of Wednesday April 15, 2015. Scores will be sent to four colleges of the student’s choice for free; students can add score recipients up to nine days after the test. Students must bring their admission ticket and a photo I.D. to be admitted to the test. The name on the admission ticket and the name on the I.D. must match.
Private-pay students do not take this test but are expected to attend school.

Continuation of Smarter Balanced test. These days are dedicated to the English activity and performance task. Private-pay students do not take this test but are expected to attend school.
AP Tests
May 4-8 and May 11-15, 2015
All students enrolled in AP courses must take AP exams. The price of each examination is $91. Families will be billed by the John Bapst Business Office.
AP test fee reductions are available based on family income. A confidential survey requesting family income information was sent home in the fall. If your student qualifies for a free or reduced-price lunch in a public school setting, the price of the exam is reduced. If you qualify, please notify me by email, kmorgan@johnbapst.org. Maine High School Assessment (MHSA) Test in Science

The MHSA in science will be administered to juniors at John Bapst on the morning of Tuesday, May 19, 2015. There are no fees associated with this test. Private-pay students do not take this test but are expected to attend school.
