Following an earlier announcement that one of John Bapst’s robotics teams, the “Guppies,” is headed for the Vex High School World Championship in Dallas, Texas, April 25 -27, 2024, we are thrilled to announce that two additional teams have qualified to compete in this prestigious, international competition. (See original story here.)
Now, with teams 2142A and 2142B joining the “Guppies” on their trip to the Texas competition, it is believed that this is the largest number of students and teams that John Bapst has ever sent to compete at Worlds.
The Vex World Championships are nothing new to the dedicated teams of John Bapst. Under the guidance of instructor Mr. Mike Murphy, Engineering and Technology Department Chair, a number of John Bapst teams have competed internationally and returned home with numerous awards and accolades, but never this many.
All three teams are currently in the process of fundraising, a crucial task, with over 20 students and instructors hoping to travel.
The John Bapst community is proud of our robotics teams, and the dedication and hard work displayed by the students and their instructor, Mr. Mike Murphy. All this takes personal and financial commitment. If you’d like to support robotics at John Bapst and help get our teams to Texas, please consider a gift at www.johnbapst.org/give/we_are_back and specify “Robotics” in the “Is this donation restricted? Yes” category on the online giving sheet.
Thank you.
