Physics teacher Scott Burgess is a published writer with the help of a few John Bapst students.

Mr. Burgess co-authored a scientific paper, which is now in print in the latest volume of the Journal of the American Association of Variable Starr Observers (JAAVSO). Former student and Distinguished Graduate Eliza Costigan assisted in the work, calibrating the telescope system, which, allowed Mr. Burgess to make the measurements necessary for the research. Current students Riley Wheelock and David Fernandez will be working with Mr. Burgess this summer as he begins the next phase of research
