Matthew E. Spear ’14 and Ryan K. Ward ’14 have been named Semifinalists in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Competition. To qualify, they have each scored in the top 1% of 1.5 million students who took the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test. Later this year, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation will name their Finalists from the pool of semifinalists to be considered scholarships that together are worth more than $35 million next spring as part of the 59th annual National Merit Scholarship Program.
Jill M. Hein ’14 and Brittany G. Towle ’14 received Letters of Commendation in recognition of their outstanding academic promise based on their performance on the PSAT which means that their scores were in the top 5% of the 1.5 million students who took the test last October.
