Tianyue (Selina) Zang has been selected as our Crusader of the Month for March 2017. Selina is a junior who resides in Veazie with her homestay family, the McGuires. Selina is from Shanghai, China; her parents are Jue (Julia) Chen and Jun (John) Zang.
Selina has a passion for learning languages. Last year she started French I at the beginning of the second semester and by the end of the summer had mastered the material so well that she was able to test out of French II and start French III. She tutors several of our day students in Chinese for three to five hours weekly, both during her study halls and after school. She also creates educational videos for middle school students in chemistry, mathematics, and physics. Her desire and willingness to help others succeed academically is admirable.
Selina is a member of the John Bapst Math Team and the Student Senate. She enjoys being with her many pets, reading books about history, and writing calligraphy. In the future she hopes to attend university in both the United States and France to study language, psychology, and engineering research. She truly demonstrates love of learning and is an asset to our community!
