Before everyone gets completely into summer mode, current John Bapst parents Adrienne Carmack and Lisa Leonard, who are also members of the Board of Trustees and Strategic Plan Committee, invite all John Bapst parents to help get a new idea off the ground for next year.
As you may have read in the recent Round Table, several current parents were involved with the formation of the Strategic Plan, which includes the desire to build on the strong community that has been an integral piece of the history of John Bapst.
In the past there have been several varieties of parents’ groups and associations at John Bapst. Currently, we have several Booster clubs, but there is not a single group for all parents. Please consider helping with the start of a parents’ group or club at John Bapst. An informational meeting will take place on June 24th at 6:30 in the John Bapst library on the second floor.
Some ideas which have already been suggested include:
- Monthly coffee and conversation with Mr. MacKay (and other administrators, teachers, or parents)
- Potluck dinners- 2-3 per year
- Host at school events
- Resource to new parents
- Resource for international parents/ students
- Communication between booster groups about events and fundraising support
- Not too many meetings
If you are interested in helping in any way with the formation of this new group for current John Bapst parents- please consider coming to the meeting or contacting us with your ideas. Again- the meeting will be Tuesday, June 24th at 6:30 in the library- coffee and cookies will be served! We will plan a second meeting for early August and keep parents informed through email.
If you are interested in getting involved but cannot make the meeting please email parents@johnbapst.org and share your ideas and suggestions.
