John Bapst is offering the second annual Technology Camp for Girls this summer!
August 1-5, 9 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Females are underrepresented in STEM fields globally, but we’re changing that at John Bapst. Three years ago, out of the thirty students who were involved in the technology extra-curriculars, only two were female. Two years ago there were seven female students involved, out of fifty. Last year there were 15 female students out of fifty. Things are changing!
Though the number of female students is increasing, the Engineering and Technology department at John Bapst wants to see even more female students participate. Our Technology Camp for Girls encourages female students to try engineering and technology by removing barriers that may discourage them. The camp is free, so money is never an issue. It also covers introductory material, so girls with no experience will be comfortable and not overwhelmed. And the camp is all-girls, and deliberately non-competitive, to make it easier for all girls to try it out. Have fun with technology and meet new and old friends. Consider joining us this summer!
The camp is open to all female students who will be attending John Bapst for the 2016-2017 school year.
Registration Is now open. Please fill out the form at this link.
