Darcy Bates ’19, Devon Hunter ’21, Eamon Laskey ’19, Emma Cowing ’21, Ethan Sailor ’19, Jen Noyes ’19, Katelynn Bowker ’19, Kelly Noyes ’20, Noah Ravan ’19, and Sara Hagstrom ’21 of the John Bapst Mock Trial Team competed this weekend at the Penobscot County Judicial Center against Brewer for the second of two preliminary matches.
The team prepared diligently for the competition and spent hours analyzing the case, drafting statements and questions, and rehearsing. The trial this year is a vehicular manslaughter case where the defendant, a high school student, is accused of causing the death of one of his passengers due to speeding and texting while driving. Witnesses included bystanders to the accident, a police officer, and a professional accident reconstructionist.
Congratulations to the team for doing a fantastic job and a special thanks to Dr. Jason Moreau ’01 for his hard-work preparing students for the mock trial!
Stay tuned for details on scores.
