Athletic Director Rick Sinclair has announced the names of winter athletes receiving post- season awards.
In Girls’ Basketball, Samantha Gormley ’09 of Levant was named to the McDonald’s Senior All-Star Team, the Big East Conference 1st Team, the Big East Senior All-Star Team, and the Eastern Maine Class B All- Tournament Team; Morgan Chasse ’09 of Veazie was named to the McDonald’s Senior All-Star Team, the Big East Conference Senior All-Star Team, the Big East Conference 2nd Team, and the Big East Conference All- Academic Team; Hillary Keith ’09 of Glenburn was named to the Big East Senior All-Star Team; Samantha Maquillan ’09 of Holden was named to the big East Senior All-Star Team and the Big East Conference All- Defense Team; and Taylor Edgecomb ’11 of Dedham was the recipient of the Big East Conference Paul Soucy Spirit Award. The Girls’ Basketball Team concluded their season as the Class B Eastern Maine Runner-up.
In Boys’ Basketball, Ryan Carr ’10 of Veazie was named to the Big East Conference All-Academic Team; Bill Wetherbee ’10 of Veazie was named to the Big East Conference All-Defense Team; Stephen Kelly ’09 of Milford was named to the Big East Conference Senior All-Star Team; and Tim Armistead ’09 of Bangor was the recipient of the Big East Conference Paul Soucy Spirit Award.
In Indoor Track, Chris Fogler ’09 of Orrington was named to the Penobscot Valley Conference Eastern Maine Indoor Track League All-Conference Team in the Long Jump, 200 M Run, and High Jump; Danielle LeClair ’10 of Orrington was named to the PVC-Eastern Maine Indoor Track League All-Conference Team in the Shot Put; and Jennifer Daley ’11 of Orrington was named to the PVC-Eastern Maine Indoor Track League All-Conference Team in the High Jump.
In Swimming, Tara Nitardy ’09 of Old Town was named to the Penobscot Valley Conference 1st Team in the 100 Butterfly, the All-Academic Girls’ Team, and the All-State Girls’ Team in the 200M and the 500M Freestyle. Andrew Desrosiers ’09 of Carmel was named to the Penobscot Valley Conference 1st Team in the 50 Freestyle and the Boys’ All-Academic Team. In addition, Corey Isherwood ’09 of Holden and Ian Grover ’09 of Corinna were named to the All-Academic Boys’ Team, and Phoebe Peckenham ’09 and Sarah Peckenham ’09 of Orland were named to the Girls’ All-Academic Team.
In Wrestling, A.J. Snapp ’09 of Castine, Fred Lear ’10 of Bangor, and Justin Jordan ’09 and Lawrence DiPietro’10 of Glenburn were named as Individual State Meet Qualifiers.
In Ice Hockey, Derek Duff ’10 of Bradley was the Eastern Maine Class B Hockey League Most Valuable Player and named to the Eastern Maine Class B Hockey League 1st Team; Casey Hull ’09 of Surry was named to the Eastern Maine Class B Hockey League 1st Team and the East-West Senior All-Star Team; Nicholas Mitchell ’09 of Veazie was named to the Eastern Maine Class B Hockey League 2nd Team and the East-West Senior All-Star Team; Tyler Fadrigon’09 of Bangor was named to the Eastern Maine Class B Hockey League 2nd Team and the East-West Senior All-Star Team; Andrew Casey ’09 of Glenburn was named to the Eastern Maine Class B Hockey League 3rd Team and the East-West Senior All-Star Team; Chase Huckestein ’09 of Veazie was named to the Eastern Maine Class B Hockey League 3rd Team and East-West Senior All-Star Team; Doug Dieuveuil ’09 of Veazie was named to the East-West Senior All-Star Team; and Joseph Pate ’12 of Orrington was named the Eastern Maine Class B Hockey League Rookie of the Year. In addition, Coach Gene Fadrigon was named the Eastern Maine Class B Hockey League Coach of the Year.
The Varsity Cheerleading Team placed second in the Class B State Cheerleading Competition and qualified to attend the New England Spirit Competition for the second year in a row.
