On Saturday, January 14, four seniors from John Bapst Memorial High School will premiere “The Brain Game,” an original musical written by Joyce Mallery and John Haskell. The musical, geared toward junior high students, explains one reason why the teenage years are so difficult – the brain is still in development! John and Joyce wrote the musical during the pandemic, and this fall students Elijah McKnight, Meghan Clair, Teeonna Ryder, and Jac Parker took on the show as a Senior Project. The musical presents a humorous context that focuses on what actually happens when emotions run high, and what teenagers can do to help themselves feel better.
Penobscot Theatre will sponsor the show for two performances this Saturday, Jan. 14 at 2:00 and 3:30, at the Studio Space at 51 Main Street. Seats can be reserved by calling the theatre, 942 3333. Then the cast will tour the show to several schools throughout the month.
