The girls track and field team did an awesome job in their meet coming in first place and defeating Cony, Lawrence, Mt. Blue, Belfast and Winslow. They were led by Maria Ullo and Carolyn Benner in the jumps, Anna Bryan and Maegan True in the throwing events, Adrienne Carmack, Jade Decker and Mar Carmack in the distance events along with Elise Tilton, Ciara Petrello and Emily Carlson in the hurdles. Great job by the entire girls team.
The Bangor Daily News reports that freshman Anna Bryan won three events Monday to power the John Bapst girls to victory in a nine-team meet at Bucksport. The event was a makeup for the scheduled April 21 meet.
Bryan took first place in the shot put (28 feet, 3 1/2 inches), the discus (81-3) and the javelin (78-2) as the Crusaders of Bangor dominated. The performances in the discus and javelin both represented PRs for the freshman.
