English Department
- Paperless classroom. This will be enabled through the use of Netbooks that are research capable with built in word processors in a reasonably sized package. Part of the goal also is to test-run a textbookless classroom. Most of the American literature used to teach sophomores is no longer copyright protected, and most contemporary essayists and poets maintain a substantial web presence. As the process carries over into other classes, cost should not rise. The Netbooks would stay at school; kids would save materials in a web 2.0 application such as Google Docs. $7,500
