John Bapst Freshman Lily Muskatell of Old Town has donated her time, talent and energy to her alma mater, Leonard Middle School, to write and compose a song as a Make-A-Wish Foundation of Maine fundraiser sponsored by the school’s music students.
The students generated a list of quotes and themes for Lily to use as inspiration while writing the lyrics. Lily took the concepts of stars, lights and wishing to create an uplifting message in her song, she said.
Early in the New Year, students at Nescom at Husson University in Bangor will assist with the recording of the song and the CD will be available for purchase by February 2012 at Leonard Middle School and at businesses in Old Town. To order copies of the CD or for information, email Leonard Middle School Music Director Mrs. Priest at shianne.priest@rsu34.org.
This is the second time Lily has given of her gifts for the students – last year she wrote a song based on quotes and lyrics provided by the students as part of a fundraiser for the Elton John Aids Foundation.
