Each week during the high school sports season the Eastern Maine High School Sports Examiner and the Eastern Maine Sports Blog announce a female and male athlete of the week. For week one of the Fall season, Aug. 31 – Sept. 8, John Bapst’s Emily Tilton received female athlete of the week for outstanding performance in field hockey. 

Tilton scored a career high four goals and had two assists in an 8-0 victory over Stearns. Tilton matched that four goal total in an 8-0 victory over Orono. She also had three assists in the victory over Orono. Tilton scored one goal in a 3-0 victory over Old Town.
