Last week John Bapst had five teams competing in a national Cyber Defense competition. From the official results released Friday evening, John Bapst’s top scoring team has ranked 63rd in the nation.
In the Northeast region (including New York and New England), they ranked number 1 tied with a team from Massachusetts. All five teams also scored in the top 22 of our region, where there are 37 teams competing. All five of our teams scored in the top 477 of the nation’s scores. There were a total of 752 competitors in this round.
In two weeks, they will compete in the second qualifier. Scores from both rounds will be combined to determine overall standings. Top teams from each region will compete in a regional round, where the top teams will be asked to attend the nationals in Washington DC.
Great job Cyber Defense!
In other tech news, next Saturday, November 8, the Robotics team competes in its first robotics tournament of the year. If you can, please join them in Cape Elizabeth. John Bapst has the most teams competing of any school attending. Mr. Murphy would love to see a giant Bapst cheering section!
