Dear John Bapst Parents,
“Do you offer homestays?” is a question we often get when meeting parents and students overseas. They know that living with a local family can speed up language acquisition, and they’ve heard that American family life is a lot of fun and very different from family life in other parts of the world.
We are always on the lookout for future homestay families for international students. Many of our most successful homestays have involved John Bapst families, who already know the school’s routines and know what it takes to succeed here. But we also work with families whose children attend other area schools, so please spread the word to your friends and neighbors.
If you or someone you know would be interested in being a homestay family this year, please let me know by calling or emailing. I will send you program details, and if these seem right for your family, you may be the next John Bapst family to welcome an overseas student into a Maine home, help the school, and earn a monthly stipend.
Thanks and best wishes this summer,
Mel MacKay, Head of School
