Widen Your Family Circle
John Bapst’s international program is an integral part of the school’s mission to bring global understanding to Maine students, and our Homestay Program plays a vital role in that process.
In 2019-20, students from 13 countries attend John Bapst, with about 80% living in on-campus dorms and 20% living in homestays. When you open your home for a semester or longer, you and your family become ambassadors, bringing the best of American family life and culture to one or more international students, sharing meals, activities, holiday traditions, and fun.
Our Team Is Here to Support You
All international students and homestay families have the full support of John Bapst’s professional staff. That includes the homestay coordinator, two school counselors, two nurses, and two international program administrators. Homestay families are John Bapst families, too, with access to school activities and invitations to holiday celebrations, concerts, plays, and sports events. The stipend homestay families receive offsets costs like food and transportation, supporting your generosity in welcoming a student from another country and culture to the United States. Consider widening your family circle through the John Bapst Homestay Program!
