
On March 2nd, John Bapst students Colin Aponte ’22 and Silvia Burns ’21 were two of seven finalists from across the state who competed in the 38th Annual Bangor Symphony Orchestra High School Concerto Competition. Colin finished with a first place award, performing Bruch’s Violin Concerto No. 1 in G minor, 3d movement. As the winner of the competition, he received the First Place Annas-Cupp Award of $500 and will be featured in a concerto performance with the BSO at this year’s Young People’s Concerts on May 20th at the Collins Center.
