The girls basketball team will play for the Eastern Maine Championship with a game against Waterville on Saturday, Feb. 21 at 2:05 in the Bangor Auditorium.
The state ski meet will be begin on Thursday, Feb. 19 at 9:00 at Sunday River and will continue through Friday, Feb. 20.
The ice hockey team will begin their playoff run on Saturday, February 28, with a game against either Presque Isle or Houlton-Hodgdon.
Other John Bapst teams completed their seasons this weekend. The John Bapst swimmers on the girls team had a great showing at their state meet, finishing seventh overall. Tara Nitardy earned two second place finishes in the 200 IM and the 100 butterfly, the 400 free relay team of Phoebe Peckenham, Sarah VanKirk, Sally Peckenham and Tara Nitardy placed fifth, the 200 medley relay team of Sarah VanKirk, Megan Call, Tara Nitardy and Mary Carmack placed sixth, Deana Kizer placed seventh in the diving, and the 200 free relay team of Paige Cote, Phoebe Peckenham, Sally Peckenham and Mary Carmack placed seventh. Congratulations to all for a great season!
The John Bapst boys swim team also had a great state meet, finishing in sixth place overall. Drew Desrosiers earned a third place finish in the 100 breaststroke and a fourth place finish in the 50 free. The 200 medley relay team of Corey Isherwood, Drew Desrosiers, Aaron Kintzi, and Ian Grover placed fourth, Corey Isherwood finished fifth in the 200 free and sixth in the 200 backstroke. The 400 free relay team of Ian Grover, Ethan Hoksch, Corey Isherwood and Drew Desrosiers finished in sixth place and the 200 free relay team of Aaron Kintzi, John Pearson, Camden Amoroso and Ethan Hoksch finished in seventh place. Congratulations to all the participants!
The Indoor Track teams also finished up their seasons yesterday. Jen Daley finished in fourth place in the high jump, Maggie Bryan finished in sixth place in the mile and seventh in the 800, Maria Ullo finished seventh in the triple jump and Stesha Rudnicki finished seventh in the high jump. On the boys side, Chris Fogler finished third in the 55 hurdles, fourth in the high jump, fifth in the long jump, and Stuart Lenz finished in fifth place in the triple jump. Congratulations to all!
