Good Afternoon,
The 2023 Weekly Athletic Schedule (5-29 to 6-3) is attached. Good luck to all!
Full speed ahead!: Can you believe it? This schedule marks the turn of the calendar to June, the end of most of our regular seasons, the last calendar month of the school year, and the postseason for many. There are many athletic competitions and trainings during the week with travel from one end of the state to the other (from Houlton to Freeport, and Dover-Foxcroft to Bar Harbor!). Please check the schedule thoroughly and stay in tune to your coaches for any changes. Good luck to all!
Make up photo day: We are attempting to schedule a photo day Wednesday or Thursday, for those that need a retake or missed the original date. It will be during the homeroom lunch period, and we will announce it as soon as possible. Stay tuned. Thank you!
Academic urgency: For the seniors, we are into finals and the last academic week of your careers. Take care of business if you have assignments to finish up, or to prepare for your exams. Communicate with your teachers as necessary to make sure you get everything done before the end of the week. Underclassmen, only a short two weeks remain for you to finish on a high note for the school year. Use your time wisely this weekend to finish your assignments, and dedicate your time to getting everything done over the next two weeks. Work hard to prepare for your exams. See your teachers to put in the extra time to prepare to be successful. Good luck!
Conflict communication: We have a busy week mixed with more spring events. We understand graduation parties and end of the year events will continue to happen as the school year winds down. Please communicate with your coaches about any conflicts. Finish the spring season strong by working hard to be at all your events. If there is an issue, let us know. Thank you!
No regrets: The last several weeks, we have talked about “going for it.” As the majority of us transition into championship competition, don’t set yourself up for future regret by failing to give it your all. Competition is our best teacher for life when our effort is at a maximum level. We may win, we may not, but the true measure of a competitor is to exhaust oneself trying to be successful. Make that your primary goal. Have fun doing it, but “leave it all on the field!” Let’s go!
Support each other: We are always better together. Once your schoolwork is finished, and if you’re available, try to go and support each other! We hope to see you loud and proud at all the competitions!
PLEASE BE SAFE: It seems all too often we hear about high school tragedies during this time of year. Memorial Day Weekend, graduation weekend, and the end of the school year bring lots of reasons to be excited and to celebrate. Please make good decisions and be safe. Please take care of each other. Wear your seatbelts. Don’t distract each other on the road and take your time. We beg you to stay as safe as possible. We want you to have fun and celebrate your milestones. We also want them to be positive memories for years to come!
HAVE FUN! BE SAFE! AND AS ALWAYS…
GO CRUSADERS!
