2023 Weekly Athletic Schedule (3/27 to 4/1).pdf
3/28/23
Good Morning,
Spring sports are here!
Weekly Schedule: All of our spring athletic programs, baseball, lacrosse, softball, tennis, and track and field will begin preseason activities this week. The 2023 Weekly Athletic Schedule (3-27 to 4-1) is attached.
Athletic Paperwork: Also attached are the two forms necessary to participate in athletics at John Bapst. The first, the Athletic Participation form, must be filled out by each athlete, each season. Please fill it out and send it back to me via email if possible, but to the main office or the athletic office in paper form if necessary. The second form, the Physical Exam Form, needs to be filled out once per year. If you have a physical form on file already, for this calendar year, you need not fill it out again. If you do not have one on file, please get it filled out by a physician and turn it in. Thank you for getting these forms done and turned in.
Yoga Classes: As you start to select classes for next year, I urge you not to forget the offerings we have as an elective, or PE credit, with Ms. Grover and Yoga! We offer three different classes. Yoga for Athletes will focus on increasing
End of the Ranking Period: Speaking of classes, the end of the third ranking period is just a couple weeks away. Please use your time wisely as the quarter winds down. Communication with your teachers is the key to success! Find out now what you are missing. Get it done and turn in quality work. Stay on top of your current assignments while you get caught up. If you’re not missing assignments, find time to put that extra effort in to improve your current grade. Academics at John Bapst is your priority. Athletics is a privilege based on how you handle that priority. FINISH…and FINISH STRONG!
Respect for Facilities: Starting this week, and over the next three months, we will be guests at facilities all over the greater Bangor area. Please be respectful of them. Each time we are fortunate enough to gain access to these facilities, leave them in better shape than you found them. Make sure trash and returnables get to receptacles. Follow the rules with regard to footwear, sunflower seeds, and access only areas you have permission to be in. Take responsibility for how you and your teammates treat the facility and go out of your way not to do damage at any time. If someone else is doing these things, be a leader, and tell them to stop. If that doesn’t work, let your coach know. This goes for the facilities on campus as well! Mr. O’Reilly delivered the message quite succinctly at the assembly on Thursday. Take pride in the buildings on campus! Be respectful. Don’t ruin opportunities for others by making bad decisions. Follow the rules. Thank you!
Parking at the Darling Center: Please, help us be good neighbors. The parking lot at the Darling Center is not entirely ours. The upper portion (closest to Broadway) has spots reserved for our neighbors at Vance Gray. The lot directly across from the Darling Center belongs to Seven Islands Land Company. Both of them are very supportive of our school. Please be mutually supportive of their needs. Please do not park in either area. Even if you are dropping off, picking up, or waiting for an athlete to finish a workout, please stay out of those areas. They are clearly marked with signage. Thank you!
JOHN BAPST CRUSADER PRIDE: As we end the third quarter and start the last stanza of the school year, attack everything you do with pride! Work hard, be a good school citizen, be a good teammate, and an upstanding member of our community. Remember you are representing all of us, and your own families, in everything you do. Show that John Bapst Crusader Pride in all you do! When you do that, I know we are all very PROUD of all of YOU!
Enjoy the weekend, get ready to finish the quarter, get your forms in, and best of luck to all of you this spring!
GO CRUSADERS!
