Weekly Athletic Schedule (1-16 to 1-21).pdf
We are about to be half way through the school year! On the calendar at least, we are past the halfway point of the winter sports season! It is all happening quickly, and it will continue to feel that way!
Even with midterm exams to prepare for, and on which to do well, this week will fly by also. With the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday on Monday, followed by four half days (to be clear, the school day ends at 11 a.m. this week, and you are not required to be at school if you do not have a test) this week will be over before you know it. Use your time wisely!
Preparation for your midterm exams should be your priority this week. While we will still have athletic activities, getting ready for your tests, projects, and presentations, comes first. If you need more time on a particular afternoon or evening to study, please, let your coaches know. They have been made aware of the schedule and will support your preparation. At the same time, if you plan well, a rigorous practice could be just what you need to give your brain a rest, recharge your batteries, and stay clear as you take your exams. Work to find balance. Plan backward from your bedtime…GET A GOOD NIGHT’S SLEEP!
These exams are just like an upcoming competition, in my estimation. Planning and preparation are the keys to success. Many of you will compete on Monday. Plan your study time for the week around it. Do you need to put in some time on Sunday to get prepared because you will be on a Ski trip all day Monday? Can you use the time on Monday morning to get ready because you have an ice hockey game that evening? And then as the week unfolds, should you stay after school and study until 2 p.m. to get a jump on your preparation before you have practice so you can get a good meal and plenty of sleep before an 8 a.m. test the next day? Plan your work, and work your plan.
Communicate with your teachers and coaches this week and get it done. We are rooting for you and we are here to help!
Best of luck on your midterm week and as always…GO CRUSADERS!
