Although we didn’t get the results we hoped for yesterday, it was a great day to be part of the John Bapst family. The large crowds of current and former students and their families and friends in Hampden and later in Topsham cheering on our football and soccer teams is a testament to the strength of the Crusader community. For current families, there’s a lot of info in this week’s update, so I’ll keep it brief here. Go Crusaders! -Jason O’Reilly, Principal and Academic Dean
With the conclusion of fall sports on Saturday, we quickly turn the page toward the winter season with some of our winter sports starting (a week from tomorrow) on Monday, November 20.
During the winter sports season, we offer alpine ski racing, basketball, competition cheer, ice hockey, indoor track, swimming and diving, and wrestling.
Basketball, cheer, ice hockey, swimming and diving, and wrestling will start on Monday, 11/20. Alpine Ski racing (12/5), and indoor track (11/27) will start a bit later.
Details for each sport’s first activity, organizational meetings, and coaches’ contact information, as well as a schedule for the first week of practices, will follow at the front of the week.
For now, the google document to sign up for a winter sport can be found at: https://docs.google.com/
There are also two forms that need to be filled out in order to participate in winter athletics at John Bapst. They are the John Bapst Athletics Participation Form and the John Bapst Athletics Physical Form. Those forms should be turned in to the athletic office before each sport begins. They can be emailed to the athletic director at email@example.com, or they can be turned in in the main office at school. All students interested should turn in the Participation Form. They Physical Form should be turned in by any potential student-athlete that has not had a physical form on file in the last calendar year. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Good luck to all of you as we approach the winter season! Please let us know if you have any questions.
Thank you! GO CRUSADERS!
