Music camp
August 19-21, Noon-3 p.m., John Bapst Memorial High School, Sekera Auditorium
Join new and current students as we prepare for our first performance opening the American Folk Festival and get warmed up for a new season in the John Bapst Music Department. Lunch will be provided daily, 11:30-noon.
All 2019-20 Band and Chorale students should plan to attend the music camp and practices.

Marching in the American Folk Festival
Have you heard the news?
Students from John Bapst’s Band and Chorus will join Portland’s Shoestring Theatre in leading the opening parade of the 2019 American Folk Festival on the Bangor Waterfront through the streets of the Bangor Waterfront, Friday, Aug. 23. This is the first time in its 18-year history that the festival has incorporated Maine high school music students into its lineup.
Practice times
Thursday, August 22, Chorus and Band Practice: 12 -3 p.m.
Friday, August 23, Chorus and Band members please be at school by noon. We plan on returning to John Bapst around 8 p.m.
American Folk Festival executive director Heather McCarthy said, “Having John Bapst Memorial High School, an institution with more than 90 years of educational achievement under its belt, contribute to this parade with the talents of its marching band will create a very memorable beginning to this festival.”
And remember, the John Bapst Summer Alumni Reunion is Friday, Aug. 23, at the Sea Dog Brewing Company on the Bangor Waterfront. Mark your calendars and join us!
