International Admissions

Welcome to John Bapst, one of the top academic high schools in New England, located in a region known for excellence in education and a very friendly community. We are a city school in the safest state with great focus on individual care and rich extracurricular and residential activities for international students from all over the world. We have received a Platinum Award from the AP Board, the highest award given, for two consecutive years. Our Platinum status means we’re among the top 7% of schools in the United States.

John Bapst is now accepting international applications for mid-year 2025 (spring semester) and for next year (2025-2026). We take a small number of new international students each year and encourage applicants to apply as early as possible. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis until all spaces are filled.

For any questions about our international program, please contact Yue Louisa Deng, Director of International Recruitment and Programs.

Student Spotlight: Derek Cao, Class of 2025

Derek Cao, who joined us at John Bapst as a 9th grader, has shown a deep interest in humanities, winning awards at state and national level competitions. Unlike many international students, Derek has focused his studies on history, taking AP US History (10th grade), AP European History, AP US Government, and AP Comparative Government, along with advanced math. His hard work and persistence are reflected in his straight-A average across eight AP courses.

Derek also actively participated in extracurriculars, founding the Asian Storytelling club and joining the band, football, and badminton teams. He is grateful for his acceptance to Emory University this year, where he will continue to study History. Congratulations, Derek!
