Welcome!

John Bapst High School welcomes you to learn more about our international program. We are delighted that you're considering us! In recent years, the College Board has recognized John Bapst as one of its Platinum Schools, based on the school’s 25 AP course offerings and student performance on the AP exams. Our students have been accepted to numerous prestigious universities, including Brown, Harvard, Cornell, Penn, Princeton, Emory, UC Berkeley, UCLA, Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Virginia, USC, UCSD, UC Davis, UCSB, NYU, BU, Boston College, Johns Hopkins, the University of Florida, the University of Texas at Austin, and Case Western Reserve University.

Located in Maine, which is consistently ranked as one of the safest and most beautiful states in the U.S., John Bapst is conveniently situated within walking distance of downtown Bangor, the third-largest city in Maine. Students have easy access to urban amenities, including many cafés, restaurants, and shops, all within a short walk from the school.

John Bapst is known for its academic excellence and flexibility, with individualized schedules for all students. In addition, seniors can participate in the Distinguished Graduate Program, which extends learning beyond the classroom in areas such as Fine Arts, STEM, Global Studies, and the Humanities.

The STEM program at John Bapst is a nationally recognized program, with our students competing in regional competitions in Boston and national competitions in places like Texas. Our Fine Arts department comprises a Concert and Jazz band, Chamber and Concert Orchestra, and Concert, Treble, and Bass Ensemble Choir groups. Our Drama department annually produces a fall play and a spring musical.

With 22 sports teams and 38 clubs, John Bapst offers students a variety of opportunities outside the classroom to enhance every student’s development while participating in a rich and diverse American school experience.
