Good Evening,
I hope you all are enjoying the final part of your Thanksgiving break. The 2023-2024 Weekly Athletic Schedule (11-27 to 12-2) is attached.
As we return to regular classes, and Alpine Ski and Indoor Track begin their seasons, we enter a very important week of preseason practices and events. This time of the season may seem taxing, and may even prove difficult. That is what makes it so important! We must work hard to improve, to be focused on learning, and we must compete at the highest level possible, in order to get the most out of ourselves before our regular seasons begin.
This is also a very important week academically. We are approaching the middle of the second quarter, and we are not far from our holiday break. Please use this week to communicate with your teachers, to make a plan to spend time extra time with them as needed, and to be sure you focus on your academic responsibilities first.
We will continue to have our Parent/Athlete organizational meetings this week. Please remember we do expect each athlete and at least one parent/guardian to attend these sessions. The Zoom links for Indoor Track and Alpine Ski (Monday), and Ice Hockey and Boys Basketball (Wednesday) are listed below.

Many of you have done a great job turning in your forms, but there are some “stragglers.” If you have not done so already, please make sure you have turned in your Participation Form (every season), and that your Physical Form is up to date (within the last calendar year). Those forms are attached for those that need them, and they can be turned in digitally, or to the athletic or main office.
Please remember to communicate with your coaches. We understand things will come up that will affect your schedule, sometimes daily. Especially if you will not be at a scheduled activity, as soon as you can, please communicate with your coaches about your conflict. If you have questions, you can always contact the athletic director as well (doconnell@johnbapst.org).
As we begin to compete against other programs, albeit in scrimmages and exhibitions, remember to honor our school’s commitment to sportsmanship. Please respect your teammates, your coaches, your opponents and their coaches, and the officials. You are representing your team, your family, and our school anytime you compete. Please honor that by doing the right thing. Thank you!
Finally, have fun! Embrace and enjoy putting hard work into the sports in which you compete. Work hard when it is difficult and don’t back down when you compete. Lift your teammates up and cheer each other on! Let’s have a great week!
Please let us know if you have any questions! GO CRUSADERS!
