John Bapst students may take the SAT, PSAT, and AP tests during the school year.

SAT
The SAT is a standardized test widely used for college admissions in the United States. It tests writing, critical reading, mathematics and is administered by the College Board.

PSAT/NMSQT
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) is a standardized test administered by the College Board and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC) in the United States. The scores from the PSAT/NMSQT are used (with the permission of the student) to determine eligibility and qualification for the National Merit Scholarship Program.

AP Exams
The tests are the culmination of year-long Advanced Placement (AP) courses. Typically, AP exams combine multiple-choice questions with a free-response section in either essay or problem-solving format. AP exams are taken mostly by high school juniors and seniors (grades 11 and 12) after they have shown promise in earlier courses. AP exams can work well for students from any country in the world who are considering college and university in the US and Canada.

TOEFL
The TOEFL is the Test of English as a Foreign Language.  It is a required test for international students who wish to attend colleges in the US. The TOEFL is offered multiple times per year on our campus.
