John Bapst Field Hockey Teams Wins Bronze

The John Bapst Field Hockey Team participated in the 2009 Maine State Games on Saturday, June 20, 2009 at Deering High School in Portland.  Eight teams from around the state participated in the tournament.  The Crusaders finished in third place, earning the Bronze medal.  We lost only one game to Bangor High School, the gold medal winner.  It's shaping up to be a great season!

John Bapst Spring Track Teams Complete Successful Seasons

On Saturday, the John Bapst Girls team won their second straight state title in track and field.  The boys team finished in fifth place.

The girls and boys teams had a total of 8 first place finishes:

• Maggie Bryan - 800 Run, 1600 Run
• Mary Carmack - 3200 Run
• 4x400 Relay team of Maggie Lynn, Carolyn Benner, Brianne Robertson, Maggie Bryan
• 4x800 Relay team of Charlotte Firestone, Kim Spencer, Jennie Wainer, Maggie Bryan
• Chris Fogler - 110 Hurdles, 300 Hurdles
• 4x400 Relay team of Chad Hensley, Sean Gilbert, Stuart Lenz, Chris Fogler

The boys team had one second place finisher:

• Chris Fogler - 200  Run

They combined for four third place finishers:

• Mary Carmack - 1600 Run
• Jen Daley - High Jump
• 4x100 Relay team of Kristyn Gerow, Stesha Rudnicki, Jen Daley, Maggie Lynn
• Gabe Stewart - 3200 Run

The girls team had four fourth place finishers:

• Kim Spencer - 1600 Run
• Laura Donovan - 3200 Run
• Stesha Rudnicki - High Jump
• Robyn Handley - 1600 Race Walk

They combined for two fifth place finishers:

• Kim Spencer - 3200 Run
• Stuart Lenz - Triple Jump

They combined for four sixth place finishers:

• Amanda Lalime - 1600 Run
• Maria Ullo - Triple Jump
• Danielle LeClair - Shot Put
• Chris Desmond - Shot Put

The girls team had two seventh place finishers:

• Paige Cote - High Jump
• Danielle LeClair - Discus

Hockey Boosters Host Golf Tournament - August 15

The Hockey Boosters of John Bapst Memorial High School are holding their 4th annual Golf Tournament fundraiser on Saturday, August 15, 2009 at Hidden Meadows Golf Course, Old Town. Shotgun start is at 8:00 a.m., rain or shine. Space is limited to first 20 teams registered.

The cost is $50.00 per player, and includes a cart and lunch. A team and hole can be sponsored for the discounted price of $275.00. Holes can be sponsored individually for $125.00 each. Proceeds from the tournament help cover the expenses for both the varsity and JV hockey teams for the upcoming 2009-2010 season.
