Library

The John Bapst Memorial High School library contains approximately 9,500 volumes, and subscribes to four daily papers and over forty periodicals. In addition to these holdings, students can use interlibrary loan to borrow works from libraries nationwide. Requests from the University of Maine and Bangor Public Library typically arrive within 2 days.

The library is open from 7:00AM until 4:00PM, providing students access to print, audiovisual, and electronic resources, as well as a comfortable space for study or relaxation.

Our mission is to promote information literacy among students and faculty alike. Library staff works with students to foster research skills and information awareness, and with teachers to enhance their curriculum and ensure students have the skills they need for academic success at Bapst and beyond.

While the library's role is primarily one of academic assistance and support, we also work hard to incorporate materials for leisure reading and independent study. The goal is to provide an educational experience that is both broad and deep, to prepare students to face the challenges of post-secondary education, and to ensure they have the skills to excel wherever they choose to go.
